Peter Maziku Maduki (Executive Director)

Mr. Peter Maduki is the Executive Director of Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC), the Faith-based organization that coordinate the delivery of social services (Health and Education) by member churches in Tanzania. CSSC works with a network of 900 church-owned health facilities where the majority are in rural areas and attributed to 13.7% of all health care facilities in Tanzania. Mr Maduki is among the few pioneers of the health sector Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the country which play a big role in the realization of the universal health coverage agenda. He led the successful transition of its kind of multi-million PEPFAR supported HIV program from international NGOs to local entities in line with the Tanzania-USG sustainability framework. Mr Maduki has enormous experience in corporate governance, strategic management, community development, health system strengthening and humanitarian services. He has been participating in the formulation/review of the national and legal frameworks and strategies for improving, the equity, accessibility and quality of the Health services. In addition, he has experience in managing interfaith programs related to the provision of social services, enhancing governance and peacebuilding. Mr Maduki gained such experience through managing various organizations as well as being a member of national and international boards. He has an M.A in Education from the University of Dar-es-Salaam. He worked with Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) as the Executive Secretary of Education Department and Caritas Tanzania as Executive Director. Internationally, he was a member of the Board of Catholic Education (Brussels), Humanitarian Advisory Council of Caritas Internationalis (Vatican-Italy) and Emergency Management Team of Caritas Africa. Currently, he is a Chairperson of Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA) Board; a Board member of the Council of Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE), Hydom Referral Hospital at the regional level and Haki Elimu.
